Group work ROCKSSSS!!! 240209

Todays chem lesson was really fun and very productive. the minute we entered after PE we arranged our tables according to groups and settled down. The fun started when we had to finish up a few question within a time limit.......i love the bell it makes such a irritating sound but its really cute!! next Ms Jee asked if anyone wanted to present our work and my group volunteerd and it was a really funny experience. although we didnt know the answer we tried and learnt from each other. thus i believe group work is fun interacting and very motivating. my group and i are motivated to earn more points by being active in class!!

First Blog First Lesson First Learning

I learnt that a prefix is used if the subscript for the first element is greater then one.
Eg if the prefix is represented by the number 2, the prefix is called di and likewise if it is 3 then the prefix is called tri.
eg: 2- di
3 -tri
4- tetra
We do not write or start with the word mono although it represents one.
HF, HCl, HBr, HI, H2S often are those which do not have prefixes.
I also learnt that if the alphabet is capital letter, it represents non-metal elements
if it is small letters it represents subscripts
eg:AB (non-metal)
:ab (subscripts)
